Burkhard is the former Global Chief Investment Officer of Credit Suisse and currently serves as Senior Financial Markets Advisor in CIO of UBS. He has about 30 years of investment experience and advises large investors around the globe. Burkhard is a regular public speaker, author of several books, and publishes regular market commentaries. Burkhard earned a doctorate in Economics at the University of St. Gallen and was awarded an honorary doctorate (Dr. h.c.) in International Relations from the Geneva School of Diplomacy. In 2004, he founded the children’s charity Kids of Africa, which runs a village for homeless children in Uganda (www.kids-of-africa.com). In 2006, he was awarded the Swiss Re Civilian Services Prize. Burkhard used to serve as a trustee and member of the Tate Modern Acquisition Committee and currently acts as a trustee to the Museum Haus Konstruktiv, Zurich, as well as the Friends of the Kunsthaus Zurich. He is also a trustee and chairman of the Investment Committee of the Credit Suisse Group Pension Fund.
