- Dirk Effenberger is Head Investment Risk at UBS Chief Investment Office (CIO)IO GWM. Dirk and his team monitors key financial market risks (incl. geopolitics), runs scenario analysis and develops hedging strategies for UBS's asset allocation views. In addition, his team oversees the UBS Global Risk Radar publicaton an investor's guide to economic and geopolitical risks. Dirk joined UBS as an investment strategist in 2007. Previously, he was an economist at Deutsche Bank Research (Frankfurt and Toronto) and the Research & Consulting unit of Swiss Re (Zurich). Dirk is a regular speaker at UBS client events. Dirk Effenberger holds a Master’s degree and a PhD in Economics from the University of Muenster (Germany). Dirk also studied at the University of California (USA). He is married and has three children.
