Uche Orji is an experienced investor, banker, and top-ranked semiconductor and technology analyst with over 30 years of global experience with in-depth experience in Technology, Infrastructure, Industrials, Energy & Commodities, spanning Europe, Africa, North America, and Asia. Uche is founder and CEO of VitesseAfrica Ltd – a principal investment and advisory company which invests in technology, infrastructure, industrials, energy, and commodities; and advises African sovereigns and state-owned enterprises. Key investments anchored by VitesseAfrica include Ori Industries (a neo-cloud AI datacenter based in the UK, recently merged with Radiant Datacenters. owned by Brookfield Asset Management), Shiprocket Ltd India and PSG-Digital a digital asset tokenization company based in the UK. Uche also co-founded UltraSafe AI – a UAE based Artificial intelligence company which delivers on-premises, modular AI systems for enterprises and sovereign entities using its own foundational models - with major application in radiology diagnostics, Web 3.0 applications, and financial services. Uche is a member of the Board of Directors of Access Bank PLC, Nigeria, serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Uche is also a member of the Board of Directors, the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG, UK), where he acts as the Senior Independent Director. PIDG is a development finance institution owned by the governments of Switzerland, Sweden, France, Germany, Australia, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, and Canada; and is the parent company of Guarantco, InfraCo and Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund. Uche was the Founding Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) which he set up in 2012 and has become the premier sovereign wealth fund in Africa with global and domestic investment mandates. Some of his domestic accomplishments include the construction of the Second Niger Bridge, Lagos Ibadan Expressway and Abuja-Kano Road, NLCC cancer center at LUTH and the founding of Infracredit PLC and ten straight years of above market performance. Earlier in his career, Uche was Managing Director at UBS Securities in New York from 2006-2012, where consistently ranked as top three Semiconductor Analyst by Institutional Investor Magazine covering over 40 leading companies such as Nvidia, Intel, AMD, Texas Instruments, Samsung, TSMC, ASML etc. Prior to UBS, Uche was Managing Director at JP Morgan in London, UK, between 2001-2006. He was consistently the top rated semiconductor analyst by both the Institutional Investors Magazine and Thomson/Extel Reuters. Prior to switching to the sell-side, Uche was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) as a Portfolio Manager and analyst covering technology, communication equipment, industrials, and chemicals sectors, as well as co-manager of the $600m GS Global Technology Fund and the EUR 1.4bn GS pan-European equity fund. Uche holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Port Harcourt, graduating in 1990; and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School in 1998.
